Introduction to basic swimming and water safety skills. Parents will learn how to help their children practice skills appropriate for their age and ability level. Children will learn fast in a group environment with one on one attention from the parent. Children will learn how to enter and exit the water in a safe manner, gain comfort in the water, explore buoyancy, floating and the use of lifejackets. Songs and games make the water a fun place to be, gain comfort in the water and build parent/child relationships.
American Red Cross Level 1 Learn to Swim Class is an Introduction to Water Skills: helps students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. Participants become orientated to Aquatic environment fully submerge their face, learn how to float on front and back, learn how to use arms for strokes, learn basic safety rules, how to use a life jacket & more!
American Red Cross Level 2 Learn to Swim Class gives students success with fundamental skills. Participants learn to put head underwater, retrieve underwater objects, explore deep water without support, learn rhythmic breathing, flutter kick, finning, begin combined strokes, turning over while swimming, learn about rescue breathing, perform reaching assists from pool deck and more.
American Red Cross Level 3 Learn to Swim Class builds on skill in Level 2 by providing additional guided practice. Participants perform rotary breathing, butterfly kick and body motion, front and back crawl, breastroke arms and legs, beginning diving skills, submerge fully and retrieve objects, rescue and survival techniques and more.
American Red Cross Level 4 Learn to Swim Class develops confidence in prior skills learned and improves technical skills like: front crawl and open backstroke turns, breastroke, sidestroke, and butterfly.
