City Attorney Dave Olsen believes that it is the mission of the City Attorney's Office to provide professional representation to the City of Boulder City on legal matters, both civil and criminal. That mission includes offering timely and effective advice to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager and all department heads. Further, it is the mission of the City Attorney's office to provide the citizens of Boulder City with timely and just prosecution of those accused of misdemeanor criminal and traffic violations.
The City Attorney of Boulder City is appointed by the City Council. The duties of the City Attorney include being the legal advisor to the Mayor, City Council and City Manager, giving legal direction and support to all City departments, and serving as legal consultant to City commissions and boards. The City Attorney also defends and initiates, when necessary, legal actions on behalf of the City of Boulder City. The City of Boulder City does not have jurisdiction over homeowner's associations. They are governed by Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 116 (Common Ownership Interest Act). For more information on this statute, you should consult a private attorney or visit the Clark County Las Library at 309 S. Third Street, 4th Floor, Las Vegas, Nevada (corner of 3rd and Bridger). 3. How Do I Order Discovery? Discovery for misdemeanor criminal cases prosecuted by the City of Boulder City can be ordered by sending a written request to the City Attorney's Office. A $5 charge is payable upon request.
3. I have just received a subpoena to appear at trial in Boulder City Municipal Court. What if I am busy that day?
A subpoena is a command by the Court, and your appearance is not optional; it is required. The City Attorney's Office will want to speak to you prior to trial, so it is a good idea to call the City Attorney's Office upon receipt of the subpoena to arrange to speak with the City Attorney or his assistant.
