Andrea AndersonCouncil Member Andrea Anderson's concerns, in addition to educational opportunities, include preserving and improving the quality of life that we enjoy in Boulder City. Issues such as community safety, low crime rates, reduced truck traffic, and controlled growth are of major importance. She fully supports improved services for all ages including the new library, enlarged Senior Center, Veterans' Memorial Park expansion, second swimming pool, the new golf courses and mountain bike trails.

Andrea Anderson was elected to office in the 2001 primary election. Andrea is a community college administrator and part-time realtor. She has been a resident of Boulder City for approximately 25 years and has been active on many boards and commissions, including the local hospital and library boards. Andrea has a bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees and considers the availability of quality educational opportunities in Boulder City to be of primary importance to the community. She is married to a Boulder City native, Bruce Anderson, who is a computer systems analyst and president of the Boulder Dam Museum Association. Andrea and Bruce have three grown sons, Mark, Eric and Greg.

As a member of the City Council, Andrea is a member of the Southern Nevada Water Authority, the District Board of Health, the Economic Opportunity Board, and the Nevada Public Agency Insurance Pool Board of Directors/Public Agency Compensation Trust.
