Report a Housing Discrimination Problem
In housing related transactions (whether for sales or rental), it is against federal law for real estate agents, landlords, property managers, lenders, homeowners’ associations, etc. to discriminate against persons because of:
-Race or color
-National origin or ethnicity
-Religion
-Sex
-Familial status (families with children under 18 and pregnant women)
-Handicap or disability (including reasonable accommodations/modifications to property)
(Reference: the Fair Housing Act and the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988)
If you believe you have been discriminated against for any of these reasons, please report this information to the City Planner at 702-293-9282 or to planner@bcnv.org. Please provide the following information:
-the nature of the discriminatory act (what the person said or did)
-the basis of discrimination (race, national origin, etc.)
-who your complaint is about (name, company, address)
-address or name of the property in question
-your contact information
The city is required to keep a record of any discrimination complaints which are made about persons/companies relative to properties in Boulder City.However, assistance regarding these types of complaints can be provided by the following agencies:
