Firefighter Reserve Program

The Reserve Firefighter program for the Boulder City Fire Department was formed in 1986. Established to provide the department with an industry compliant manpower pool able to supplement daily staffing deficiencies and as a work program for individuals interested in a fire service career, the program continues to support the mission of the department.

Shift Training

Under the guidance of the Shift Captain, Reserve Firefighters respond to fire, rescue and emergency medical calls, participates in shift training, fire prevention and education activities, and the on-going maintenance of the fire station and response equipment.

Minimum Program Prerequisites

Minimum prerequisites include Certification as a Firefighter I and Certification as a EMT-Intermediate with at least 6 months of on-the-job emergency medical response experience
