Boulder City Police, after discussions with our local school leaders, will not be enforcing the school zone speed limits until children return to school. Regularly posted speeds will apply at all times of day, including typical school hours.
During the school year, zones near the schools are marked for slower speeds to ensure the safety of school children. Because of the transition to distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Boulder City Police will not enforce the slower posted speeds at this time. Be aware that children may be walking to Mitchell Elementary from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. and Boulder City High School from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. to pick up breakfasts and lunches provided by Clark County School District. Officers remind motorists to take caution whenever they see children (and other pedestrians) on all our streets.
