BOULDER CITY - You may notice extra patrols on the highways over the next ten days. Boulder City Police Department is taking part in Joining Forces, a high visibility enforcement, increasing the number of officers on the streets. Officers are aggressively seeking out impaired drivers in a campaign designed to deter people from driving while impaired.

Impaired driving has become increasingly dangerous nationwide during Labor Day Weekend. That’s why agencies are Joining Forces statewide to crack down on impaired drivers. The campaign will be in effect from September 3, 2020 through September 13, 2020. “The goal of Boulder City Police Department is simple: keep our roads and highways safe,” said Chief Tim Shea. “Whatever you drive, if you’re impaired, you will be arrested.”

To crack down on impaired drivers, Boulder City Police Department will join forces in the campaign. Specially trained officers will be on hand to provide field sobriety tests used to identify impaired drivers if someone is suspected and pulled over. Impaired driving is simply not worth the risk. The public should know there are terrible consequences and high costs of an arrest.

Boulder City Police remind drivers to use a designated sober driver, taxi, or a ride-sharing company. “There is never a reason to get behind the wheel when you are impaired,” Chief Shea added. “We ask that drivers be responsible for their safety and the safety of others, not just this weekend but every single day.”
