Crack and slurry seal contractor American Pavement Preservation (APP) is scheduled to start work Monday, September 13, 2021. Asphalt patching larger cracks and re-filling cracks that sank (sinkers) starts first. Slurry sealing starts the week of September 20. Slurry sealing operations should take one month to complete. Please see the map for the slurry seal locations (same locations that were crack sealed earlier this year).
Two of the most difficult and disruptive portions of this project will be the seal coating on Nevada Way from Buchanan Boulevard to Wyoming Street due to the volume of traffic on Nevada Way and seal coating Wyoming Street from Nevada Way to Utah Street. This work will take approximately a week to complete and will involve long lane closures for the curing of the seal coat material. APP’s striping subcontractor will schedule the re-striping of these roads after the material has had a minimum of 10 calendar days cure time. Temporary striping tabs will be installed until the final striping is complete.
APP will use the Bravo Field parking lot at Avenue B and Sixth Street as a staging area for the work. This parking lot will be closed off to public use during this time. At the end of the project, APP will crack and slurry seal and re-stripe the parking lot.
Notices will be handed out by APP 5-days and 24-hours before work begins on each street. "No Parking" signs will be placed on streets prior to the work to insure there are no cars parked on the street before sealing operations. Please adhere to traffic control and do not drive in the fresh seal coatings before the area sealed has cured and reopened to traffic. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this important roadway maintenance project.
