Learn to Swim Programs
Designed for children ages 6 months to approximately 4 years, the purpose of the American Red Cross Parent & Child Aquatics program is to familiarize children with the water and teach swimming readiness skills. In addition, parents learn safety information and how to help their children practice skills appropriate for their age and ability level. Children learn fast in a group environment with one on one attention from the parent! Songs and games make the classes and help build parent/child relationships. We offer two levels, as instructor availability allows: Water Babies for 6 months to 2 years, and Pollywogs for 2 years to approximately 4 years.
American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics if for children ages 4-5 years. Students will be introduced to basic aquatic skills and begin development of effective swimming habits. Students also learn safe practices in and around the water. We offer Levels 1, 2, and 3, depending upon instructor availability and class demand. Each level builds upon the previous as they progress through the levels.
American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Courses are for children ages 6 and up. Level 1 begins with introducing basic aquatic skills, development of effective swimming habits, and teaching safe practices in and around the water. Each level builds on the previous as students progress to learning front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly. In addition, endurance and technique are continuing to improve. Safety information and skills are an integral part of every Learn-to-Swim level. We offer Levels, 1-4, depending on instructor availability and class demand.
