EPA Lead and Copper Rule Improvements - 2024

Boulder City cares about your water quality. We randomly and regularly test drinking water to ensure it is free of hazardous chemicals.  The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently enacted the “2024 Lead and Copper Rule Improvements” (LCRI) to ensure communities seek out and replace lines made of lead or copper. Residents throughout Nevada (including Boulder City) will be receiving more information in the mail this month, as mandated by the EPA. We want to let you know that the letters are a measure required by the EPA and are no cause for alarm.

Boulder City has no known lead water lines (or galvanized material previously connected to lead), however, the LCRI requires that we inform you annually of the potential risks from lead exposure in drinking water until we specifically confirm your service line material. The City is inspecting service lines and to date, about 1,000 lines are confirmed to be free of lead. Click the link below to review the notification letter.
