Air Traffic Control Tower

BVU Air Traffic Control Tower

The Boulder City Municipal Airport is in the process of designing and building an Air Traffic Control Tower or ATCT.  BVU -  the assigned three-letter airport identifier - would be the sixth airport in Nevada to have a Control Tower.  The ATCT will add a layer of safety to the airport's operations.  Air Traffic Controller's role is to coordinate aircraft movements at the airport, such as, takeoffs, landings, and ground traffic.  Their primary purpose worldwide is to prevent collisions, organize and expedite the flow of air traffic, and provide information and other support to pilots.  This ATCT will serve the flight traffic arriving, departing, and transitioning the area within 5 miles of BVU.  During the design and construction process, this webpage will contain information regarding the project.   Please visit here for ongoing information, or to reach out with questions by emailing AirportAdmin@bcnv.org.

Update: November 2025

The ATCT Design process is at 30% and the Airport is now seeking a Construction Manager at Risk for the ATCT Project.  The RFQ 2025-23 is advertised on the Nevada Government eMarketplace at www.ngemnv.com look under "Current Bid Opportunities" and search for RFQ 2025-23.

Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) is a delivery method where a construction company is hired in the early design process to provide valuable input on the costs, timelines, and constructability of the design.  CMAR works closely with the design firm to control costs and manage the project more effectively.  CMAR also guarantees a maximum price (GMP) to complete the construction of the project.
